Evonik raises prices of carbon black for pigments

Frankfurt, Germany -- Evonik's Degussa unit is increasing prices for carbon black pigments and pigment preparations by up to 9 percent depending on the product. The price increase will be effective for all deliveries on or after March 1, 2010.
Evonik said its pigment blacks include furnace carbon black, lamp black, gas black and thermal black. It claimes to be the world's second largest producer of these products.
