Bridgestone adds civil aviation fitments

Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp is to supply aircraft radial tyres for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), the next-generation regional jet under development by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation.

Bridgestone's aircraft tyres are already being supplied for use on large aircraft with 100 or more seats, and the supply of tyres for the MRJ, a regional jet in the 70- to 90-seat class, will further expand the scope of the company's aircraft radial tyre business.

The tyres that Bridgestone will supply for the MRJ feature the advanced radial construction known as Revolutionarily Reinforced Radial (RRR).
