Pirelli re-certifies US plant with international quality standards
ERJ staff report (TB)
Rome, Georgia -- Pirelli Tire LLC has re-certified its US plant in Rome, Georgia to two key international quality management system standards as part of the firm's drive toward continuous quality improvement.
Pirelli recently received recertification of ISO/TS 16949:2002 and UNI EN 9001:2000, for automotive supply chain and quality management systems, respectively, the company said. ISO and UNI standards are administered by the International Standards Organisation and Italian Organisation for Standardisation, respectively.
“Achieving ISO/ TS 16949:2002 registration is a fundamental part of doing good business and essential to supply our original equipment (OE) and replacement tyre customers,†said Andrew Kearton, vice president of manufacturing and original equipment sales at Pirelli Tire North America.
