ERJ staff report (DS)
Hanover, Germany -- Goodyear is highlighting its innovative Max Technology systems for truck tyres at the IAA. Max Technology covers the company's latest generation of commercial vehicle tyres. Benefits include improvements to fuel consumption, shorter wet stopping, greater load capacity and longer tyre life.
The company has been focussing hard on truck tyres, aiming to deliver improved carcass life; better retreadability and a seamless integration of new tyres and retread operations for the last 12 months. According to the company, this policy is showing significant improvements.
AirMax, FuelMax and KMax are three technologies from Goodyear, which make up the Max Technology family. The AirMax Technology concept is to increase the air volume inside the tire without increasing its diameter. FuelMax Technology is a combination of dedicated design and material features for long haul tires. This means improved fuel consumption and reduced emissions, while providing enhanced mileage and wet braking performance. KMax Technology is for regional haul applications and is a specific combination of dedicated tire features. These have been developed to maximize tire mileage, allow a wide application range and improve fuel consumption to reduce cost/km.
