Michelin ties up with electric car specialist Venturi
Paris -- Electric vehicle specialist Venturi Automobiles and Group Michelin are joining forces to develop a new-generation electric vehicle equipped with Venturi's lastest technologies.
The companies will unveil the as-yet unnamed vehicle at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, which opens on 2 Oct.
Michelin said the partnership will allow it to demonstrate the capabilities of its latest innovations on a high-performance vehicle, while enabling Venturi to produce a vehicle that features unprecedented architecture and dynamic qualities.
Michelin did not elaborate on its role in the partnership.
Monaco-based Venturi is perhaps best known for its $400,000 Fetish electric sports luxury car, but it also is working with France's P.S.A. Peugeot-Citroen to supply the French postal service with electric-powered versions of the firm's Citroen Berlingo delivery van.
