Michelin regains top slot among tyre makers

London -- Michelin has regained its top position in European Rubber Journal's annual ranking of tyre manufacturers. Michelin edged out Bridgestone by a margin of just one percent, on currency effects.
Goodyear, Continental, Pirelli, Sumitomo, Yokohama, Hankook, Cooper Tire and Kumho all retained their positions in the top ten tyre makers.
The next change in the ranking was Triangle Tyre, which jumped one position, to 14th slot, pushing Hangzhou Zhongce down to 15th position. Nokian rose two slots to 16th, from 18th. The top 20 is rounded out by Apollo from India, MRF from India, Shandong Linglong jumped 6 positions to 19th, and 20th slot is taken by Double Coin of China.
