SAE publishes book on tyre failure analysis
WARRENDALE, Pa. (Aug. 12, 2008) -- The Society of Automotive Engineers International has published a book aimed at tire forensic experts that covers the causes of tire failures.
Written by Thomas R. Giapponi, president of TRGtech Tire Consulting L.L.C., “Tire Forensic Investigation: Analyzing Tire Failure†covers the ways a tire can fail and how to identify those failures in passenger and light truck tires, according to the SAE.
Topics covered in the 238-page book include: belt separation; tire condition; balance weight marks; tire location on vehicle; failure theories; tire investigation techniques; etc.
