Michelin adds more colours to bike tyre sidewalls
ERJ staff report (DS)
Paris -- Michelin has employed a creative consultancy to develop a range of coloured bicycle tyres, based on its Pro3 prototype introduced during the 2007 Tour de France bicycle race.
Michelin said the chemists and compounders at its technology centre came up with a new rubber compound that makes it possible to produce these new colors, Yellow Flash, Orange Signal and Ivory.
The Michelin Pro3 will be available in Yellow Flash, Orange Signal and Ivory starting in September, as well as in the Gray, Red, Dark Blue, Digital Blue and Yellow versions already in stores. Michelin said, "This racing tire is designed for all cycling enthusiasts who want to treat themselves to something special.
