NR prices 2 percent off June peak
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo -- The benchmark six month futures price of natural rubber on Tokyo's TOCOM exchange closed at Yen 329.3/kg ($3.056/kg) today (Thursday). Although this is only around 2 percent lower than the peak of Yen 356.7 recorded in June, the weakness of the dollar has meant the dollar-based prices has declined by almost 10 percent since the peak.
Prices elsewhere have also been falling slowly on weaker oil prices and a declining dollar.
