Reutlingen, Germany -- The German Reiff Reifen group has begun purchasing casings made by Chinese tyre manufacturer, GiTi Tire. These are the only Chinese made casings the Reiff group will buy, according to a GiTi statement. GITI Tire Europe said it is working closely with REIFF in evaluating further the retreadability of GT Radial casings.
Reiff, a premium tyre operator, company has been selling GiTi tyres for some years. It operates some 80 locations in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg and Belgium, as well as a fleet of mobile fitting vehicles. Reiff also operates R E T, a premium elastomer mouldings manufacturer.
Dirk Rau, Production Manager for the Reutlingen operation summarized his experience so far as follows: The acceptance ratio for GT radial is so far 100 %. The GT Radial casing is considered very robust and have a significant under tread which facilitate the retreading process. The shearography machine has accepted all casings.
