ERJ staff report (DS)
Reutlingen, Germany -- The German Reiff Reifen group has begun purchasing casings made by Chinese tyre manufacturer, GiTi Tire. These are the only Chinese made casings the Reiff group will buy, according to a GiTi statement. GITI Tire Europe said it is working closely with REIFF in evaluating further the retreadability of GT Radial casings.
Reiff, a premium tyre operator, company has been selling GiTi tyres for some years. It operates some 80 locations in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg and Belgium, as well as a fleet of mobile fitting vehicles. Reiff also operates R E T, a premium elastomer mouldings manufacturer.
Dirk Rau, Production Manager for the Reutlingen operation summarized his experience so far as follows: The acceptance ratio for GT radial is so far 100 %. The GT Radial casing is considered very robust and have a significant under tread which facilitate the retreading process. The shearography machine has accepted all casings. No specific issues with the buffing process have been reported.
Rieff says of itself, "Carefully-chosen suppliers, uncompromising quality-oriented thinking and innovative communication channels mean that efficient, economical solutions are possible. At the centre of all of our activities and ideas is our aim of adding value for our customers."
