Cooper Tire names marketing v.p.

FINDLAY, Ohio (June 30, 2008) - Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has appointed Hal Gardner as vice president of marketing for the North American Tire Division, effective today.

Mr. Gardner most recently served as vice president of marketing and a corporate officer for Therma-Tru Corp. in Maumee, Ohio. He also has worked as vice president of marketing and a corporate officer for Premier Farnell Corp. in Cleveland and as vice president of marketing and a corporate officer for Moen Inc.

“We are excited to find a person with Hal´s qualifications to lead our marketing group,” said Phil Caris, vice president of sales and marketing. “In our challenging industry, we need to have the best marketing insight and focus to design and execute programs to help position our products effectively, provide the structure to sell at profitable levels and continue to build relationships with our dealers. Hal has solid experience at the highest levels to deliver on these expectations.”

Mr. Gardner is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
