Yokohama sets up sales company in Thailand
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo - The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has established Yokohama Tire Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Bangkok, Thailand. The new tyre sales company will begin sales activities in July 2008. It is capitalised at 200 million baht (approximately 3.9 million euro) with full investment by Yokohama Rubber.
n Thailand, said Yokohama, sales of Yokohama brand tyres, mainly those for high-performance passenger car tyres, are rapidly increasing. In the past, Yokohama Rubber has sold its tyres through local tyre distributors in the country. The company has however found it necessary to establish its own tyre sales company so as to further expand sales of passenger car tyres and strengthen sales of truck/bus tyres and light truck tyres that are manufactured by Yokohama Tire Manufacturing (Thailand).
With the establishment of the new company in Thailand, Yokohama Rubber Group now operates tyre sales companies in Taiwan, South Korea, China and Philippines as well as Japan.
