Tokyo rubber rises above $3 /kg

Tokyo -- Prices for natural rubber continue to increase, following the surge in the oil price. On Thursday the benchmark 6-month futures contract on Tokyo's TOCOM exchange closed at Yen 319.6/kg ( $3.10).
In Singapore the RSS3 contracts up to June 2009 are all trading in the range $3.03 to $3.08/kg, with short dated contracts at the top end of the band. TSR20 contracts are trading in the range $2.99 to $2.93.
