Aditya Birla Nuvo profits fall in year to March
Mumbai, India -- Indian rayon and carbon black producer Aditya Birla Nuvo has reported consolidated turnover of Rs 121 000 million (Euro 1914 million) for the 12 months ending 31 March 2008, achieving 45 percent year-on-year growth.
Net profit fell by 46 percent from 2007, to Rs 1508 million, whilst operating profit fell by 3 percent to Rs 11 000 million. Net revenues showed a rise of 45 percent on last year's results to Rs 121 340 million. Â
The Carbon Black, Rayon and insulators businesses posted the highest-ever annual revenues. Aditya also reported an expansion of the insulators business by 12 000 tonnes to be introduced in two phases and is said it is moving into polymer insulators.
