ECHA launches REACH pre-registration form in XML
ERJ staff report (DS)
Helsinki, Finland -- The European Chemicals Agengy (ECHA) has issued a computer plug-in to allow on-line pre-registration of chemicals within the IUCLID system. In order to benefit from extended deadlines for phase-in substances, potential registrants under REACH may pre-register their substances with ECHA between 1st June 2008 and 1st December 2008 (inclusive).
One option for submitting REACH pre-registration information is to do it on-line, but that has to be done in a specific format. ECHA sais, "The majority of pre-registrants need not concern themselves with these technical documents as the IUCLID 5 Pre-registration plug-in will implement this format."
Those who wish to use this system can access the file from the IUCLID (International Uniform ChemicaL Information Database) website (see below). The IUCLID 5 software is available free of charge on the site, as is the XML plug-in. IUCLID has a professional service desk which is also free of charge, to help with installation and management issues.
