Michelin settles with Double Coin in US, China
Greenville, South Carolina -- Michelin North America Inc. and China Manufacturers Alliance (CMA) LLC have settled the intellectual property lawsuit the Greenville-based tyre maker filed against CMA.
The US settlement follows a resolution between Michelin and Shanghai Tyre & Rubber Co. Ltd., which recently changed its name to Double Coin Holdings Ltd., on “multiple intellectual property litigations in various countries,†Michelin said.
As part of the settlement, Shanghai Tyre and its affiliates-which include CMA, the company's wholly owned US sales and marketing unit-agreed to change the tread patterns on certain Double Coin and Dyna Trac brand tyres. The companies also removed versions of Michelin-copyrighted content from their Web sites, Michelin said.
Terms of the financial settlement were not released.
