Bridgestone to supply run-flats as OE on Nissan sports car
Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp will supply run-flat tyres (RFT) for factory installation as standard equipment on the Nissan's latest, "multi-performance super sports car", the GT-R, when it is launched in the US in June 2008.
The tyres supplied to Nissan have reinforced sidewalls to support the vehicle in case of a loss of air pressure. The highly rigid structure of the Bridgestone Potenza RE070R RFT has been specifically tuned for the Nissan GT-R, and the tyre's new tread design offers excellent handling in both wet and dry conditions. Combined, these features offer impressive performance which is ideal for the enthusiast wishing to drive on the race track, said Bridgestone
The company has developed winter tyres for the same application. The GT-R uses 255/40ZRF20 (97Y) on the front wheels and 285/35ZRF20 (100Y) on the rear
