Degussa to raise silica prices in Europe
Düsseldorf, Germany - Degussa GmbH is raising its rubber silica prices in Europe. The price increase will come into effect on 1 Nov., 2007, and will amount to €60 per metric ton.
The company blamed the increase on incresed raw materials costs. In a statement, the company said, "Over the last few of months, Degussa has absorbed a major portion of the rising costs, but is no longer able to withstand cost pressures caused by the rise in energy, raw materials, and shipping costs."
