Dukinfield, UK -Â Excel Polymers LLC has bought specialist roll-covering company, Chase Elastomer UK. Ltd for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition follows last month's announcement that Excel bought another UK-based rubber processor, Vita Calender.
The acquisition was made by EXLP Global (UK) Ltd, a UK-based subsidiary of US-based Excel Polymers. Chase Elastomer UK was founded by Tom Chase, who also built up the Chase Elastomer based in Arlington, Texas. Chase became part ofthe M A Hanna company in 1996, and in 2000, M A Hanna became part of the PolyOne organisation which was, in turn, acquired by Lion Chemical Capital LLC and re-named Excel Polymers. Thus the acquisition reunites the two Chase Elastomer companies under one owner.
In a letter to customers announcing the acquisition, John Quinn, President and CEO of Excel said, "This purchase represents another significant step in the development of the European strategy of Excel Polymers and comes after the recent acquisition of the Vita-Calender business in Salford, Manchester."
He continued, "We expect the business team you have come accustomed to rely on to continue to support your needs. Your usual commercial representative will contact you in the next few days to give you more details and to answer your questions. We thank you for your business and we look forward to working with you in the months and years ahead. "
