Lanxess sales fall on sale of Lustran business, but underlying strength is good
Leverkusen, Germany -Â Excluding exceptional effects including the sale of its Lustran business, Lanxess AG has reported strong sales and profit growth for the six months to June 2007.
In the performance rubber segment, sales for the three months to June 2007 increased by 4.2 percent to €467 million compared with €448 million a year earlier. Despite, "sharp increases in raw material costs," the unit's EBITDA pre exceptionals grew by 4.8 percent to €65 million from €62 million a year earlier. EBITDA margin edged up to 13.9 percent from 13.8 percent.
