Malaysian NR production falls 3.5% in six months to June
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian production of natural rubber amounted to 97 717 tonnes in June 2007, up on the May figure, but down on June 2006. In the six months to June 2007, total production was 589 380 tonnes, down by 3.5 percent, compared with the same period in 2006.
Domestic consumption of NR in June 2007 was 35 kt, an increase of 13 percent compared to the same month last year.
Prices were lower than in may and about 15 percent lower than the peaks recorded a year ago.
