Hexion changes name of Latices for Europe
Columbus Ohio - Hexion Specialty Chemicals is renaming its full range of polymer dispersions in Europe and redispersible powders globally under the new brand name Axilat.
"With our recent purchase of the polymer dispersions business from the Rhodia Group came a range of brand names most closely linked to the Rhodia company name," explained Winfried Schaller, Vice President, Coating Resins EMEA. "As we looked at our global portfolio of products, we decided to rebrand all newly acquired products as well as existing Hexion dispersions in Europe under the new Axilat brand name. The re-branding activity is part of an overall effort to position Hexion Specialty Chemicals globally as a major raw material supplier to the coatings, building & construction and adhesives markets."
Hexion will begin using the new Axilat brand name in October for all products previously marketed under the Rhodopas, Rhoximat, Rhodoline, Rhodotak and Rhodoviol brand names, as well as for Hexion's Sokrat line of products. Product numbers associated with specific products will not change.
