NIBA cancels New Orleans meeting, seeks new venue
Waukesha Wisconsin --NIBA-The US-based Belting Association has cancelled its annual convention in New Orleans but is looking at other sites in hopes of holding it in another city at the same time.
The meeting was scheduled to be held at the Sheraton in New Orleans from Sept. 17-21. However, because of the destruction in the city caused by Hurricane Katrina, NIBA President Ted Lusch said the convention will be moved.
"We are investigating several exceptional properties and are confident that the 2005 convention will be held," he said. "We are striving to maintain the same convention dates."
He anticipates a decision will be made within the next few days.
