Conti introduces tyre for 2006 World Cup tournament
Frankfurt, Germany -- As sponsor of the soccer world cup being held in Germany in 2006, Continental AG has developed a new car tyre, called the ContiChampionContact. It will be fitted to official World Cup vehicles and available for purchase from tyre stores.
Ralf Hoffmann, Conti's European brand marketing manager, said, "Every car-driving sport enthusiast will be able to purchase the ContiChampionContact, decorated with stylised soccer balls on the sidewalls." The company said, "Eight sizes are to be produced, basically in sizes of 16, 17 and 18 inches."
The tyre is based on Conti's recently-launched OE tyre, the ContiSportContact 2
