Centrotrade to distribute Guayule latex
Carlsbad, California--Yulex Corp. of Carlsbad has entered into a five-year agreement with international latex trader, Centrotrade, to distribute its latex materials produced from the world's only Guayule plantation.
Under the terms of the agreement, Centrotrade has exclusive rights to distribute Yulex-brand natural rubber latex worldwide to manufacturers of medical devices, surgical gloves, condoms, catheters and other latex-based medical products.
Most natural rubber is produced from the Hevea Brasiliensis plant, which produces latex contaminated with proteins that cause allergic rections in sensitised individuals. Since Yulex latex comes from a different species {Parthenium argentatum (Gray)}, known as guayule, it has none of these allergens, says the company.
