Beijing--The Commerce Ministry of China has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of polychloroprene rubber following an investigation announced in November 2003.
According to the announcement (see below) the duty is effective from 10 May, 2005 and will last five years. The tariff codes of the investigated commodity are 40024910 (other chloroprene rubbers with primary shape) and 40024990 (chloroprene rubbers without titles). Imports will be affected as follows:
- DENKI KAGAKU KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA 3%
- TOSOH CORPORATION 2%
- LANXESS Deutschland GmbH 11%
- Polimeri Europa ElastomÃ¨res France S.A. 53%
- Other companies of European Union 151%
- Other Japanese companies 151%
- All American companies 151%
China has two CR manufacturers: Chongqing Changshou Chemical and Shanxi Synthetic Rubber Group.
Du Pont Dow Elastomers is the only producer not mentioned in the list, and will therefore suffer a 151 percent import duty.
