ACI to build huge cryogenic rubber crumb projects
Berlin, Germany--Berlin-based ACI Corp. is planning a series of huge cryogenic rubber crumb projects in Brunei, the US and elsewhere. The aim is to provide rubber crumb and thermoplastic elastomer materials. The company wants to have 100 000 tonnes of annual capacity on stream by 2005, rising to 560 000 tonnes by 2007. The company gives no indication of who will buy this volume of material.
The first project is destined for the Kingdom of Brunei--not known as a major centre for old tyres--with the second project in the US, at Point Pleasant, West Virginia , near the state capital of Charleston.
