New female condom made from latex
Intellx Inc. will introduce its VA condom for women throughout Europe during the second half of 2004. The condom, manufactured by Medtech Products in Chennai, India, is made from natural rubber latex, as opposed to polyurethane, used in the only other condom for women.
Intellx said it hopes to win 'fast-track' approval from the US-based FDA, which would allow the company to launch the VA in the United States "within six to twelve months".
