Bridgestone in truck tyre retread JV with Marangoni

Brussels-Bridgestone Europe NV/SA is the majority partner in a new retread systems joint venture with Ferentino, Italy-based Marangoni Tread SpA, part of Marangoni SpA. The firm, called Bridgestone Retread Systems NV/SA, will service all of Bridgestone's truck tyre retreading activities in Europe, Bridgestone announced 4 June.

The Brussels-headquartered JV, will be the sole supplier and service provider to Bridgestone's Federated Retreader network, said a Bridgestone statement. The firm will include Marangoni Tread's sister company Ellerbrock RT GmbH of Henstedt/Ulzburg, Germany, it added.

According to Bridgestone, the linkup with Marangoni will enable it to benefit from its Italian partner's expertise and to distribute selected Marangoni products to its retreader network.

The JV expands “the availability of Bridgestone's total tyre care packages, facilitating a Europe-wide service through it's Truck Point network,” the company's statement added.

To support the new venture, Bridgestone said it is extending its range of pre-cured treads, which are produced by the Federated Retreaders under the 'Qualitread' brand.
