Warren, Rhode Island-Lloyd Manufacturing Corp. has appointed J-Flex Rubber Products of Retford, UK, to distribute its products under the Lloyd brand name, in the UK and continental Europe.
Warren, Rhode Island-based Lloyd is a manufacturer of thin-gauge, precision-tolerance sheeting in a wide range of elastomers, while J-Flex offers a wide range of parts and materials, specialising in silicone and in Viton fluoroelastomers for composite diaphragms and thin gauge sheeting.
The two firms rubber sheeting products complement each other, with J-Flex having a niche business with its silicone rubber and Viton materials, while Lloyd focuses on an extensive variety of elastomers, including NR, SBR, nitrile, hydrogenated nitrile, epichlorohydrin, polychloroprene and butyl rubber.
The UK firm's established customer base in the European region was an attraction for Lloyd: “J-Flex supplies our type of customer in markets where Lloyd has a worldwide reputation for 'thin and tight' gauge tolerance,†said Michael Schalz, Lloyd's president, in a company statement.
