Amerityre PU auto tyre passes test requirements
From Rubber & Plastics News
Boulder City, Nevada-Amerityre Corp. received word April 23 that its prototype polyurethane car tyres have complied with the test requirements for Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 109, applicable to new pneumatic tyres.
The standard specifies tyre dimensions and laboratory testing requirements for bead unseating resistance, strength, endurance and high-speed performance; defines tyre load ratings; and specifies labeling requirements for passenger tyres.
Richard Steinke, Amerityre president and CEO, said “passing the test requirements is the first credibility threshold Amerityre must cross before it can further advance its polyurethane tyre technology.â€
He also acknowledged that Amerityre is well aware that additional testing will be required to show the tyres can meet new standards under FMVSS, which will take effect in 2007.
“However, passing the current standards shows our technology works and we are confident the new standards will be met as well,†Steinke said.
