NZ earthquake bearings protect Indian hospital
A new 300-bed hospital in Bhuj, Gujarat has been built with earthquake bearings designed and produced in New Zealand. The bearings use combinations of lead and rubber. The 100,000-population town of Bhuj was almost destroyed by a major earthquake in January 2001.
