Iran tyre cord player emerges

Tehran-Saba Tire Cord Manufacturing Complex of Iran has established a nylon tyre cord production facility about 15km north east of Zanjan, Iran. The operation, which started up in April last year, is the largest such facility in the Middle East region, the company claims.
Saba's 600-employee facility has an annual production capacity of 15 000 tonnes of different tyre cord fabrics, according to company information. Saba is owned by Rubber Industries Investment & Development Co., an Iranian holding company based in Tehran.
Zimmer AG-a Frankfurt, Germany-based subsidiary of mg technologies AG-supplied the knowhow for the design and construction of the plant, according to Saba.
Saba encompasses production of nylon 66 chips, nylon 6 and 6,6 industrial yarns and dipped tyre cord fabrics. Manufacturing operations include polycondensation, spinning, twisting, weaving and dipping operations, according to the company.
