Omya has launched a new functional filler designed to partially replace virgin and recovered carbon black in rubber compounds.
The Swiss group said its Omyaprene 50 C can replace up to 50wt% of N550, N660 and N770 carbon black in selected applications.
Manufactured at Omya’s production site in Omey, France, the product can be used as reinforcement in EPDM compounds, NBR/SBR flooring compounds and natural rubber formulations, it added.
