New operation to coordinate global communications from brand's country of origin
Tokyo – Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) has established a new UK company to coordinate the global branding and communications strategy for Dunlop brand of tires.
Dunlop Branding Works Ltd, established in July, will begin operations in October from the London area, SRI announced 18 Sept.
The wholly owned subsidiary has capital of £260,000 (€303,000) and will be led by CEO and COO Masatoshi Yakushiji.
Operating from the UK, “where Dunlop was born”, the company will work with SRI's Japanese headquarters and regional group companies to develop advertising, digital content and brand experiences.
The operation will act as a “global communication hub for the Dunlop brand” and promote consistent branding worldwide, SRI said.
The move follows SRI's decision from the start of 2026 to unify its communications under the Dunlop brand.
SRI said it aimed to establish Dunlop's position as a “global premium brand” by providing customers with new experiences through “innovative technologies and services”.
