Joint venture secures financing for 22ktpa plant, commissioning planned for spring 2028
Dillingen/Saar, Germany – Pyrum Innovations AG has signed a plant purchase agreement with joint venture Suas reTire sro for the supply of its thermolysis technology for a planned end-of-life tire (ELT) recycling plant in Sokolov, Czech Republic.
Established in 2025, Suas reTire is an €8.6-million JV between Pyrum and the Czech sustainable energy company Suas Ecology, with Pyrum holding 49% and the Czech partner holding the remaining 51% of the shares. (ERJ report)
The latest agreement with the JV company covers the delivery of a Pyrum thermolysis plant comprising three reactors and associated process engineering, Pyrum said 14 August.
The project is the first external plant purchase agreement signed by Pyrum for a facility outside its own sites, the company said.
In addition, Pyrum said Suas reTire has also concluded loan agreements with a Czech financing bank, securing the funding required for construction of the plant.
Initial construction work at the site has already started, according to Pyrum.
Set for commissioning in spring 2028, the facility is expected to have an annual capacity to process more than 22 kilotonnes per annum of ELTs once fully operational.
The Sokolov site has existing industrial and energy infrastructure, including a power plant operated by Suas Group.
This will allow gas generated during the thermolysis process to be used for power generation without significant additional infrastructure investment.
Pyrum expects initial payment for the plant delivery to be made “in the coming weeks.”
