UK manufacturer ends 130 years of family ownership as managing director takes full control
Market Harborough, UK – Harboro Rubber has completed a management buyout (MBO) backed by a 'seven-figure' loan from HSBC UK, the company has announced.
The MBO ends more than 130 years of family ownership of the Market Harborough-based rubber moulding company, according to the 6 Aug statement.
The transaction sees managing director Michael Fallis-Taylor take full ownership of the business as James Briggs steps back from the company, Harboro Rubber explained.
According to the company, the buyout will support investment in R&D, towards expand its product portfolio, including Dainite-branded shoe soles.
The business will also “continue to modernise its operations through new technologies, lean manufacturing practices and a strengthened management team with specialist expertise.”
Following completion of the MBO, the company expects to achieve annual turnover growth of 10% over the next five years.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
