Moves closer to customers, supports long-term growth across North and Latin America
Weinheim, Germany – Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) has opened a new sealing facility in Queretaro, Mexico as part of a move to strengthen its presence in North and Latin America.
In a 30 July statement to ERJ, the company said the new facility covers 9,000 sq.m. and manufactures static seals, O-rings and gaskets using advanced injection moulding and compression moulding technologies.
The plant supplies to customers in the automotive and general industry sectors.
Supporting “local-to-local supply strategy,” FST said the “the site enables closer customer collaboration, improved delivery times and greater manufacturing flexibility across the region.”
“Mexico remains an important market and manufacturing hub for Freudenberg, supporting customers across the automotive and industrial sectors as part of the company's regional growth strategy,” FST added in its statement.
The new facility also strengthens the company's North American manufacturing network by supporting production continuity and operational flexibility as customer demand evolves.
The unit was constructed in 2024 and production ramp-up continued during the year.
The site has been designed with future growth in mind, capable of accommodating additional manufacturing capabilities, including planned rubber mixing operations in a later phase.
Freudenberg entered the Mexican market in 1854 and opened its first production facility, a tannery, in Cuautla in 1961.
The first site for sealing production opened in 1975, also in Cuautla.
Freudenberg currently operates multiple manufacturing, research, testing and sales facilities across Mexico, including FST locations - one in Cuautla and two in Queretaro.
