Distributor strengthens presence in rubber, plastics and adhesives markets
Downers Grove, Illinois – Univar Solutions has acquired HM Royal, a 101-year-old US distributor of rubber, plastics and adhesive additives, the company announced 3 Aug.
The transaction strengthens Univar's presence in key US markets, particularly on the East and West Coasts, where HM Royal has an established customer base.
Univar said the acquisition expands access to specialised products, technical expertise and long-standing customer relationships, but did not provide further financial details.
The addition will expand Univar’s Performance Materials business within the ‘Ingredients + Specialties’ division.
HM Royal customers will gain access to Univar's broader logistics network and digital tools, in addition to the distributor’s existing expertise and customer relationships.
Nick Powell, CEO of Ingredients + Specialties at Univar Solutions, said the deal brings "deep technical expertise" in rubber, plastics and adhesives, as well as long-standing customer and supplier partnerships.
Matthew Oliver, SVP Performance Materials, said the acquisition would create "a more connected platform in rubber and plastics" while preserving HM Royal's technical expertise, supplier relationships and market focus.
The combined business is expected to provide customers and suppliers with broader product access, expanded technical support and improved supply continuity.
