Indian parts maker Talbros inks rubber recycling JV deal 

New Delhi — Indian automotive parts supplier Talbros Automotive Components Ltd (TACL) has formalised a joint venture with Lohum Cleantech Pvt Ltd. to produce recovered carbon black (rCB) and devulcanised rubber.

In a 7 July social media post, Talbros said it executed a joint venture agreement with Lohum 2 July, establishing Lohum Talbros CarbonTech Pvt Ltd.

The new company will focus on the production of recovered carbon black (rCB) and devulcanised rubber, with commercial operations scheduled to begin in July 2026, in line with plans announced last year.

The agreement follows approval by Talbros' board in November 2025 to establish the JV with Lohum, an Indian specialist in the refining, production and processing of critical minerals, battery materials and recycled feedstocks.

According to Talbros, the venture plans to launch India's first “low-ash rCB”, using improved processing technology to provide "differentiated products" to customers.

In statement in November last year, Talbros estimated the global market for rCB at about $1.8 billion (2.5 million tonnes), with annual growth of around 35%.

The global devulcanised rubber market, it said, is valued at $3.5 billion (4.2 million tonnes) and growing at around 10% annually.

The partners plan to invest INR200 million (€1.8 million) in equity during the first year, with Talbros holding a 49% stake and contributing INR99.5 million.

The joint venture combines Talbros' OEM relationships, manufacturing expertise and market access with Lohum's recycling technology.

Commenting on the project at the time of announcement, joint managing director Anuj Talwar said the collaboration would focus on developing "high-quality, sustainable solutions" for domestic and international markets.
