US recycler Liberty Tire expands network with three acquisitions

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — Liberty Tire Recycling has expanded its Gulf Coast operations with three acquisitions strengthening its tire collection, processing and recycled rubber production capabilities across Texas and Louisiana.

In a 16 July statement, the company said it had acquired All American Tire, Colt Tire Recycling and Genan Inc., to add "significant processing capacity, inbound collection, and expanded footprint."

The acquisitions, said Liberty, will create the Gulf Coast's “most comprehensive tire recycling network.”

The transactions strengthen Liberty's ability to provide “integrated tire collection, processing and recycled material solutions across the region while increasing capacity to meet growing demand for end-of-life tire management,” the company said.

Fort Worth-based All American Tire is a tire collection and crumb rubber producer serving the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

Louisiana-based Colt Tire Recycling is a leading tire collector in the state and has developed recycled rubber applications for civil engineering projects.

Houston-based Genan Inc. is the US subsidiary of Genan A/S and will add “crumb rubber, micronised rubber powder and rubber granule production capacity” for Liberty.

The company also produces materials for playground surfaces using patented technology.

Thomas Boehme, previously with Genan, will remain with the business in a new role leading growth efforts for the Genan business in the US, Liberty said.

Senior members of the leadership teams from all three acquired companies will join Liberty to support the integration and ongoing development of the businesses.
