Lubricants producer to contribute expertise in rubber process oils, recycled feedstocks
Friedrichshafen, Germany — Zeppelin Systems has expanded its Sustainable Tire Alliance with the addition of Orlen Oil, a producer of automotive and industrial lubricants, greases, base oils and rubber process oils.
The partnership will allow Orlen Oil to contribute expertise in lubricant technologies while supporting the development of circular solutions for the tire industry, said Zeppelin in a 9 June statement.
According to Zeppelin, the collaboration will also explore the use of recycled materials, particularly end-of-life tires, in petrochemical processes, helping create new products based on advanced recycling technologies.
Founded in 2023, the sustainable tire alliance brings together companies from across the tire value chain to develop technologies for sustainable tire manufacturing and end-of-life tire recycling.
Its focus spans mechanical recycling technologies, including sorting, water jetting, devulcanisation and reclaiming, alongside raw-material recycling processes such as pyrolysis and purification.
"The transformation towards a circular tire industry requires strong partnerships along the entire value chain," said Sascha Stiller, head of SBU plant engineering and CEO of Zeppelin Systems.
"With Orlen Oil, we gain a partner whose expertise in lubricant technologies and rubber process oils directly supports our customers' ability to industrialise their production concepts," he added.
