Japanese group merges automotive hose production with antivibration parts to improve scale
Tokyo – Japanese automotive parts maker has announced plans to consolidate its Indonesian subsidiaries in order to “expand business scale and improve profitability.”
The group said it currently operates two subsidiaries in Indonesia: Trim Rubber (TRIM), which manufactures and sells hoses, and Fukoku Tokai Rubber Indonesia (FTR), which manufactures and sells “functional products and vibration-damping products.”
In a recent statement, Fukoku said it was transferring the TRIM business, which it said was small in scale with limited future expansion potential, to FTR.
Noting that it believed the Indonesian market to offer “prospects for further growth,” Fukoku said the consolidation will the reorganisation of operations would enable it to ‘concentrate resources’.
The transfer will cover TRIM's automotive hose manufacturing and sales business and related production facilities, with the transfer scheduled for by the end of fiscal year 2026 (30 March 2027).
