Purchase of Gomet to enhance presence in automotive boots segment
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Industrial Solutions (TIS) has signed and finalised an agreement to acquire Gomet Srl, an Italian company active in the European aftermarket for niche automotive components.
Gomet specialises in protective polymer components for critical automotive systems, primarily constant velocity joint boots, jounce bumpers, and rack and pinion boots, said Trelleborg 5 June.
Previously owned by Huntsman Corp., the acquired company is headquartered in Azeglio, Italy with manufacturing facilities at the location and sales of SEK270 million (€25 million) in 2025.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"Gomet further strengthens our position in automotive boots both as a key supplier to the world’s leading OEMs and now also in the aftermarket, where we see significant opportunities,” said Jean-Paul Mindermann, TIS president.
As the lifespan of vehicles on the road continues to increase, Mindermann explained, “there is a corresponding demand for high-quality replacement parts to keep critical systems damage-free.”
