Planned facility to process over 70ktpa of end-of-life tires as company advances scale-up strategy
Stockholm – Scandinavian Enviro Systems has submitted an environmental permit application for its first fully owned full-scale tire pyrolysis plant in the Nordic region and secured an exclusive option to acquire the proposed site for the facility.
The planned unit is expected to have a processing capacity of more than 70 kilotonnes per annum of end-of-life tires, said Enviro 22 May without providing location details.
Enviro said the move marks a further step in executing its long-term industrial strategy.
“The submission of the environmental permit application and the securing of the property option represent another step in the continued execution of the company’s strategy and industrial scale-up,” the company said.
Enviro added that it has maintained “constructive dialogue” with authorities and other stakeholders during the preparatory phase of the project.
The company said it may receive preliminary feedback from authorities before the end of the second quarter.
Alongside the permit process, Enviro said it had secured “an exclusive option” to acquire the property where the plant is planned to be built.
According to the company, the option allows it to secure the site ahead of a final investment decision.
The proposed facility remains subject to environmental approvals, a final investment decision and other customary project conditions, Enviro said.
Further updates will be provided as the project progresses.
