Bekaert introduces a concrete reinforcement steel fibre made entirely from steel recovered from ELTs
At World of Concrete 2026 in Las Vegas, Bekaert introduced Dramix Loop, a concrete reinforcement steel fibre made entirely from steel recovered from end-of-life tires.
The company said steel tire cord used in the product often originates from Bekaert, making the development an example of circular material reuse within the tire value chain.
According to Bekaert, the fibres deliver “exceptional tensile strength” while achieving “near-zero carbon emissions.”
The launch is aimed at addressing disposal and reuse challenges linked to ELTs, while expanding recycled applications for recovered steel.
