Chennai facility to boost EPDM and TPV sealing systems capacity, strengthen regional footprint
Chennai, India – German rubber parts supplier SaarGummi has expanded its manufacturing base in India with the opening of a new production facility by local subsidiary GoldSeal SaarGummi.
In a recent social media post, GoldSeal SaarGummi said it had inaugurated a new 65,000 sq ft facility in Chennai, marking “a significant upgrade” from its existing operations in the city.
The site will support the introduction and scaling of advanced polymer technologies in India, said the post, noting that the plant will enable GoldSeal SaarGummi to offer a broader portfolio of EPDM and TPV sealing systems.
The company said the investment is aimed at enhancing its ability to deliver higher-performance and more innovative solutions to automotive customers.
The Chennai expansion also strengthens SaarGummi’s presence in southern India and is positioned to support both domestic and global supply requirements.
Formed in 1997, GoldSeal SaarGummi is a joint venture between SaarGummi and India’s Gold Seal Engineering Products Pvt. Ltd.
In addition to the Chennai facility, the JV also operates three other factories in Mumbai, Daman, and Ahmedabad, in India.
Among other products, the factories produce sealing profiles and weatherstrips for the automotive industry.
