Facility aimed at better supporting local Chinese market “and beyond”
The Hague, The Netherlands – Dutch synthetic rubber producer Arlanxeo has inaugurated its Innovation Centre Asia (ICA) in Changzhou, China, the company announced 15 April.
The new centre was created by upgrading Arlanxeo’s existing regional technical centre (RTC) into an “Asia hub for innovation,” said the Dutch supplier, noting that global R&D capabilities have been expanded to support “local market in China and beyond.”
“Innovation is a core driver of Arlanxeo’s sustainable growth, and China plays an important role in our global innovation ecosystem,” said Herman Dikland, chief technology and sustainability officer.
The facility, he said, puts Arlanxeo “in an excellent position” to advance its R&D capabilities and reinforce market position.
The company will be “driving frontier innovation” with its China team, bringing China-based innovations for global markets, Dikland added.
Also speaking, Hong Sun, managing director of Arlanxeo China said the new centre renewed the company’s commitment to “the rapid transformation of China’s rubber industry.”
“With growing demand for advanced materials and customised formulations, the new centre will further strengthen our proximity to customers, enhance our agility in meeting market needs and better support the upgrading of the entire rubber industry,” he concluded.
