Hike driven by higher raw material, energy and logistics costs
Cologne, Germany – Lanxess AG is increasing prices for sulphur-based products by an average of 40% with immediate effect, citing sharply higher input costs.
The affected portfolio includes sulphuric acid, oleum and sodium bisulphite from the group’s Advanced Industrial Intermediates business unit, said Lanxess 30 March.
The German supplier said “ongoing geopolitical tensions” have driven up costs for sulphur, energy and logistics, requiring a price adjustment outside the regular schedule.
Despite efforts to maintain stable pricing, Lanxess said the increase is necessary to ensure the “long-term reliability and sustainability of supplies.”
