Tokyo Zairyo targets closer support for Japanese automotive suppliers
Tokyo – Tokyo Zairyo Co. Ltd., a rubber and materials trading subsidiary of Zeon Corp., has opened a new branch office in Chennai, India to strengthen its presence in the country.
The office, located in Tamil Nadu, was established in November 2025 and has now begun full operations following completion of preparations, the company said 26 March.
Zeon said the move was intended to “further expand its business in the Indian market” while building a structure capable of “responding quickly to diversifying customer needs.”
The company has been active in India since 2011 through its subsidiary Tokyo Zairyo (India) Pvt. Ltd., based in Gurugram in the northern state of Haryana.
The Chennai expansion marks its entry into southern India, nearly 15 years after establishing its initial presence.
The new office will work in close coordination with the Gurugram base to strengthen “information services and user support,” leveraging its networks “within and outside India.”
Tokyo Zairyo is engaged in the purchase and sale of a wide range of materials, including “rubber, resins, and elastomers,” primarily supplying Japanese automotive parts manufacturers and processors operating in India.
